New to our Day Collection. Suli Bayan takes its name from the Tagalog, suli for essence and bayan for town or community, a nod to the shared craft held in every piece.
A large tote handwoven from abaca, the wild grass that grows across the Philippines. The fibre is harvested and dried, then flattened into a strong, supple strip and woven by hand by Filipino women, finished with a sturdy woven handle. Light and roomy, made for beach days and bright errands alike.
Made by hand by artisans in the Philippines, whose skills have been passed down through generations and whose time is honoured fairly. So no two are quite alike.
