A clutch cut from two large Kabebe shells, mother of pearl chosen for its lustre alone. Shells this size, and this intact, are rare to find, perhaps once in a lifetime. Each carries its own faint ridges, like a thumbprint, so no two are ever the same and yours will be unlike any other.
Each shell must first be found, then slowly revealed. It is soaked until the sea loosens its hold, and the mud, salt and debris fall away, then polished by hand from the sediment until the lustre beneath comes through.
Made over nine weeks by twenty artisans in the Philippines, whose skills have been passed down through generations, and whose time is honoured fairly. For the evening, a wedding, and the years after it.
