The shell is found, then slowly revealed. It is soaked until the sea loosens its hold and the silt falls away, then polished by hand until its red deepens.
Made over nine weeks by artisans in the Philippines, whose skills have been passed down through generations and whose time is honoured fairly. Imagine it with crimson lips and a plain black dress.
